When does a campaign start and end?

Each campaign begins once the campaign owner submits all the information and documentations needed.

Each campaign has three (3) months maximum to collect funds. During registration however, you may choose to have a shorter campaign period.

Can my campaign be shorter than 3 months?

Three (3) months is automatically assigned to your campaign if you do not choose a shorter campaign period.

What is Sapot?

Sapot is an online application that aims to create a collaborative community of small and micro entrepreneurs. It provides a secure and transparent platform that is specially available for small business owners to raise the funds needed for their businesses, up to RM10,000.

Why the RM10,000 limit?

Typically, a small business would not require capital any larger than this amount at any stage of their business - whether at the start or in growth mode.

How do we know the entrepreneurs and campaigns are legit?

Each fundraising campaign will be reviewed and approved by Sapot admin to ensure it meets the necessary criteria. Sapot will only approve campaigns that clearly indicated objective to start and/or to grow their small business. Only verified Sapot entrepreneurs are allowed to launch a fundraising campaign; and only Sapot-verified fundraising campaigns can be launched for crowdfunding.

Do I need to register in order to offer support to a campaign/business?

You need to key in some contact information when you support a business. These information are needed for us to send an official receipt when you support a campaign. By doing that, you are automatically registered on Sapot. After supporting, you’ll get an email where you will be prompted to create a password.

Can I support a campaign anonymously?

You may choose to support a campaign anonymously; however, some personal and contact information are needed to ensure that you receive an official payment notification, and as part of our compliance process.

What are the documentations needed to register as a business?

Before filling up the company details, please ensure that you have these documents and information prepared :

  1. SSM Registration No.
  2. SSM Registration Certification (PDF or image)
  3. Compant bank account details
What are other documentations needed to get my campaign approved?

In order for you to receive the funds collected, SAPOT would need to verify personal identification i.e your MyKad. Please prepare images of your MyKad (front and back) before going through the verification process. Sapot guarantees that all information provided is secured and will not be shared with third parties.

How long is Sapot verification process?

All verification process including for businesss, campaigns and personal information may take between 3 to 7 working days.
